After almost 20 years in security and private protection keeping tabs on some of the country’s most public figures, Billy Durney today lives his longtime dream as Pitmaster and Owner of his Hometown Bar-B-Que. The Brooklyn native’s love for ’cue began at an early age, when he first learned the art of smoking meat as a youngster during visits to his grandparent’s cabin in rural Pennsylvania. Over the years, Billy’s obsession over perfecting his barbecue found him traveling all over the United States and the world to master his technique. From the backyard barbecues he always cooked for family and friends, Billy is happily realizing his lifelong passion for wood, fire, and meat and serving others through his hugely popular restaurant. Since opening Hometown Bar-B-Que in September 2013, Billy’s received a great amount of national press coverage, including the New York Times, New Yorker and Men’s Journal and various television appearances.
